Cubicle decoration is a great way to bring some personality into your workspace. You don’t need a large, fancy office to enjoy your surroundings, with some simple cubicle decoration tips, you can feel good about your workplace. Not only will you feel good, but chances are your productivity will increase as well. We all know, a happy employee is a good employee!

There are a few cubicle decorations that are simple to add, change or personalize. Mouse pads are one example. There are numerous mouse pads available to fit every personality. A quick search online should be able to turn up something that fits well for you. In addition to adding some personality, mouse pads are a very inexpensive way to start your cubicle decoration.

Another item you can use to spruce up your cubicle is a small desk lamp. Better light is good for you to begin with, but a small desk lamp can really add some personality to your cubicle. It may not seem like your typical “cubicle decoration”, but you will be surprised at just how many small desk lamps there are out there. From modern to a classic look, adding some light to your space is a great way to decorate your cubicle.

In addition to these ideas, you may also look at changing out or adding storage containers. Pen holders, business card holders, even your waste basket. If you are really looking for a cubicle decoration makeover, changing out these types of items will do wonders. It is not terribly expensive, but having multiple containers that match and are pleasing to the eye does wonders.

If you take this a small step further, and make an effort to match your new desk lamp, mouse pad and storage containers, your cubicle decoration efforts may be complete. Even if you keep the same photos, calendar or other knick knacks you have hanging around your cubicle, it will look like a whole new work space.

Not only is it fun to add new cubicle decorations, but a cubicle makeover really can improve your mood while at work, and also your productivity. Give it a try, even if you don’t have the ambition to give your cubicle a full house cleaning, give it a little sprucing up and see how you feel. You spend a large portion of your waking hours at work, having a nice cubicle decoration can really help pass this time and make it more enjoyable!

Check back in, we will be looking at more office and cubicle decorating ideas soon!

Leaving the home and going to the office creates a trasitionary period. You have time to change gears from the home life to the office life. Having a home office, however, facilitates the need to create this transition through various home office ideas.

Office plants can add a lot to the often stale environment that an office can bring. When choosing an office plant, however, there are some things you need to keep in mind. Office plants will need to be chosen based on the particular office. Here are some ideas and tips to keep in mind.

When choosing your office plants, you need to take into account the amount of light your office plant will be able to receive. If you get plenty of natural light, your choice will differ from someone who’s office plant is situated in an interior office with little or no natural light.

When choosing an office plant, it is also important to take into consideration how much water it will need. Most often, there will be no one there to water your plant on the weekends. You should also keep in mind that when you are gone on vacation, your office plants may need to fend for themselves.

Some good choices for both of these scenarios are cactus plants and succulents. Both of these types of plants are very hardy, and will look good with minimal care. That is important, as you don’t want your office plants looking like they are in poor health, it conveys the wrong message about your business.

Cactus Plant

In addition to being very hardy plants, there are many varieties of these to choose from. Overall, going with a cactus or a succulent will make for a very good office plant.

If you have the natural light, and are not concerned about watering issues, you can also choose other plants. There are a variety of small trees that can look very good indoors, as well as bushier plants. Talk to your local nursery, they will certainly be able to recommend some additional choices for you.

Bonsai Tree Office Plant

One particular plant that I love in offices, however, is the bonsai tree. They do need some natural light, and will take a little bit of care, but overall, they are good selections. Best of all, they really make a statement. Having a bonsai tree as an office plant will certainly draw compliments and encourage conversation. Plus they really have a unique look that can fit into almost any office!

Office Plants

Finally, when looking for the perfect office plants, you need to also think about pots. The possibilities are endless with the pots, and making the right selection can really compliment the rest of your office decor. Take a look at these tall pots, they really add to the overall decor. In a case like this, the pot your office plant is in becomes more of the focal point, with the actual plant being the trim.

Check back in, as always, we will continue bringing you more office decorating ideas!

Office cubicles are a part of office life that requires unique decorating ideas. When looking at cubicle decorating, it is important to keep a few things in mind.

First and foremost, when looking for cubicle decorating ideas, remember, office cubicles are open spaces. You don’t have as much privacy in office cubicles as you do in a private office, which means you do need to keep your cubicle decorating on a level that is appropriate.

Now this does not mean that your office cubicles need to be bland, but you do need to practice proper “cubicle etiquette” and be sure your cubicle decor does not offend your co-workers.

In addition to your co-workers, office cubicles are typically visable to clients. Your cubicle decorating needs to also take this into account. Keep it professional, as the office cubicles will reflect on the business in general.

A quick cubicle decorating idea is to add some plant life to your space. You need to keep in mind the light that your cubicle gets, and choose a plant accordingly. Also, choose one that you can maintain without having to water every day.

A good choice is a cactus or succulent. They are hardy plants, with many varieties to choose from. Find a good looking pot to keep it in, and add it to your cubicle. It may not sound like much, but some plant life in your cubicle will really brighten you mood.

Check back in for more on office cubicles. We will be bringing more cubicle decorating tips in the near future!

Office décor needs to be changed from time to time to give a new and fresh look. One may feel bored looking at the same old walls, the clocks, frames and other signs hanging from the ceiling.

You do not need to call an interior decorator to address this issue, however. We can take help with lots of office decorating ideas that will surely add to your office decor. So lets try to find ways to rid your office of the boring environment and bring a fresh and cheerful atmosphere in by changing your office decor.

To start with, one can plant trees like bonsai that will not need much space. A bonsai expert should be called to the office who will suggest the places where different type of bonsai can be successfully maintained.

Make arrangements to reduce the paperwork that may pile up on each table. Perhaps add some more cabinets to keep these papers and files in order, or simply add some nice looking file materials like baskets that can be purchased for very little.

Encourage other office employees to come out with their own decor ideas for their work station or the entire work place. Reward those who share or suggest the best innovative ideas in enhancing the office décor.

Install a good music system and buy some cds that play beautiful and soothing music. This lifts the spirits of employees and keeps them self motivated and relaxed all the day.

Introduce some motivational or funny posters in the office. One may also bring any Poster that shares a good joke or quotation and place them at their work desk.

The reception area can also be given a new and fresh appearance. Change the existing sofa sets and add some colorful decorative sofa sets that are also comfortable and add ambience to the room. Make sure the color of the sofas match the color of the walls.

Buy a beautiful round shaped glass table and place them near the sofas. One can place some magazines and newspapers on them.

Personal Workstations or desks should have the option where the employee can also place their favorite photos facing them. This will add a personal touch to the overall office decor.

Clocks that are large sized and visible to all in the office are another good idea. The Clock can be digital or analog. Some clocks also come with calendars.

Feng shui items like the Laughing Buddha can also be placed in the office. They not only are attractive but also bring good luck and fortune. One can get lots of those feng shui statues, symbols, chimes or water fountains and put them in the office to spruce up the overall office decor.

Our Top Ten Quick and Easy Office Decorating Ideas

Add Water to your office

Adding water to your office space is a very quick office design idea, and is one that will work with any budget (if you are looking for cheap decorating ideas). A small fountain or fish tank will do the job for very little out of pocket cost, while a large custom built saltwater tank can be built almost anywhere for those with larger budgets. This aquarium table can make a great impact on your office decor, for under $300.

Add a mirror

Adding a mirror or two can really open up what might otherwise be a closed office space. It does not even have to be a large mirror. Additionally, with all the shapes, sizes and frames to choose from, you can find the perfect fit for your office design.

Organize your existing art in odd numbered groupings

You don’t even need to purchase new art, just by moving around what is already on your walls can create an entirely new feel. Group your art in odd numbered groupings; groups of one, three or five, and it will be more pleasing to the eye.

Add an area rug

Another idea that will fit with any budget, add an area rug to your office design. You can find rugs in all sizes, shapes and colors, and it may surprise you how much a well-placed rug can impact your overall office interior.

Scrap your current organizational items

Any office store will have a wide variety of organizational items from baskets, file holders, penholders etc. to choose from. Choose a style that fits for you, and then upgrade. It is not expensive to purchase new organizational items, but the difference it can make is often tremendous. An added bonus to this office design idea is that it will also force you to get more organized as you transition to the new items. Often times, this gives your productivity a boost.

Add some greenery

Simply adding a plant or two to your office will give your space a more inviting feeling. Be sure to choose a plant that will thrive in the light your particular office gets. If you have no natural light, an artificial plant can accomplish the same goal.

Purchase a new piece of art

Oil paintings are great for the office, you can find a painting of almost any subject you desire, and a nice piece of art can really add some character to a room. If you work in a modern high-rise type of office with a lot of glass, look into a piece of contemporary art. The clean lines of the contemporary style really fit well in the modern office buildings.

Change the frames on your existing art

Simply changing the frames on your existing art can also do wonders and add some flair to your office decor.

Arrange your furniture in a circular manner

If you have a waiting room or area where clients sit, try arranging the furniture in that room in a circular manner. This will give a warm feeling to the room and encourage positive energy for your waiting clients.

Add a drink dispenser

This can be both functional and decorative. Soda, coffee, tea, water, people like to sip on something, and having a drink dispenser handy will benefit you with positive energy from your visitors and clients. In addition, there are many unique and decorative dispensers on the market that can make a decorative statement for your particular office. Just because an item is functional does not mean it cannot also be decorative!

Good luck!

Office interior design ideas will no doubt vary depending on your business type and the general architecture and feel of your particular building. There will be different office interior design for older buildings than for new, modern buildings.

Likewise, your office interior design will vary depending on your business. A bankers office design is not going to be the same as that of a photographers. The one common thread between office interior design that transends all building types and business types, however, is the fact that you do not want too much clutter. Instead, you should strive to have space that will allow you to work both comfortably and efficiently.

In today’s post, we are going to look at the tranquility of liquid in your office. One element of your office interior design could incorporate the soothing aspect of water. The other element we will look at is the functionality of liquid dispensers in your office. You can incorporate these ideas into any office interior design, and they will be a most welcome addition.

An aquarium with a large unusual fish could be a nice, yet tranquil addition to your office interior. Another of our office decorating ideas is to incorporate a small fountain in your decor. Either of these design ideas could add some tranquility to your office space.

If you have a traditional style office, you could also add a couple plants in the aquarium. Instead of one large fish, a few smaller fish with interseting traits could add a little spark. Angel fish are great fish that come in many colors and also fit well in most traditional offices.

An often overlooked aspect when coming up with office interior design ideas is refreshments for staff and clients. Coffee machines, soda machines, tea, hot water, etc. can offer many different and interesting ideas for your interior decor.

Look for dispensers that fit with the overall feel of your office space, while maintaining praticality. Not only will it add to your office ambiance, but it will also be welcomed by your clients looking for some refreshment.

Check back in, we will be looking at many more office interior design ideas in upcoming posts.

Home office decor can be found in any multitude of outlets. The success of your office remodel lies in how well you can conceptualize the look of any particular home office decor item. In most cases, the people that I see that wish to undergo a majoy home office decoration project fall into two camps. There are the people who have difficultly visualizing the look of a newly designed office and there are those that can literally see the finished product in their minds.

Because you are reading my blog it is somewhat safe to assume that you have some design instincts so to speak. Hopefully, you know what I mean. So just because you know what you want the finished office, your “new” office, to look like, you still have to take certain steps to ensure that you secure the right home office decor.

First, what exactly do we mean when we speak of home office decor? It, quite simply, is the elements of your work space that make up the look of the room. In most home offices you will find furniture, likely a desk and desk chair perhaps a sofa or chairs, you will also find accent pieces like lamps, clocks, and tabletop accessories, but there is more to your office’s decor that that. The walls and floors are key components as well.

The mistake I see so many people make when brainstorming office decorating ideas is to focus on the furniture and accent pieces while essentially forgetting about the walls and floors. The floors are a particularly grievious offender. Remember that a new office design will likely require a new floor rug. It’s a mistake that people often make when designing their home office.

Now, the question of your home office decor inevitably returns to your budget and vision for the office. The budget is fairly self explanatory while the vision refers to what look you want the finished product to take on. I know that in my case, when I redecorated my home office, I took a sem-modern workspace and transformed it, with the help of a few high-end antiques, into the type of Victorian drawing room that Virginia Woolf would have been proud of.

I not only love the aesthetic look that my home office brings to the table, it is very functional as well. I do a tremendous amount of high quality work there. And it’s not just a little different. In my new office I am probably 25% more productive — though occasionally I do become enamored with some of the accent pieces that I chose to decorate the room with.

All in all, I can not overstate how much better I feel working in an office that fits my personality to a T. It absolutely makes a difference. And why does it fit my personality so well? Because I am the one who selected the home office decor. I picked out the pieces myself and I chose carefully and therefore chose well.

A final word on budget. Most high end retailers of office decor have had a rough couple of years. They are really desperate for a sale in many, if not most, cases. Be a savy shopper and take advantage of this. Chances are you can get significant discounts on the merchandise that might have been out of your price range just 6 months ago. It is a great time to remodel your office.

Just remember to visualize what you want your end product to look like. (And if you have trouble doing this why not hire a professional or get your significant other’s opinion.) Because with the right decor your really can make your design dreams for your home office come true. The only word of wisdom is do not let anything but your imagination limit you when choosing your home office decor.

Office decor ideas are often more difficult to come by than you might have first thought. Office decor is the element of an office that unites the form and function of the room. Despite this fact the decor is often the last thing one thinks about when designing an office. Quite simply, this can be a mistake.

The decor of the office contributes to the workability of the office as a whole. If you have a well designed work space, that space is likely to more productive and conducive to an idea-generating environment. So where do you go about generating office decor ideas? It’s not as difficult as it sounds.

The first thing that you need to do is decide if you are embarking on a remodel of an existing office or if you have a blank canvas in which to work your design magic. The difference can be significant. For instance, if you have an existing home office or external office space in need of a remodel you can ask yourself several questions.

Is this the best time to redecorate the office? Do I have the necessary budget to complete the remodel? Do I have the office decor ideas that I will need to bring a design concept into a functional, beautiful office?

The first question is the most pressing in these uncertain economic times. Have you chosen the best time to redecorate your office’s decor? On the one hand, a properly decorated and accented office can be the most productive work environment for you. On the other hand, it can be tough to justify spending a significant amount of money to remodel or redesign an office that is already performing its function adequately. Only you know the answer to these questions.

As for the the second question, one needs to consider the budget for the design project that they wish to undertake. First, what is your budget? Take a piece of paper and write down your goals for the redecoration project and what you want look you want your new office to represent. Then consider your budget. Do you need new office furniture? What about a paint job? Can anything from your existing office be transplanted to your redecorated office, like perhaps your office desk?

Once you realize the elements of your office that you want to keep going forward you can begin to get an idea of the amount of money that you want to spend going forward. This is a key part of the process because if you don’t establish a good idea of your budget you are likely to break it once you start generating office decor ideas.

So, you have your budget and have decided that this is the best time to remodel or redecorate your office. What is the next step? Now you need to begin researching office decor ideas. What look do you want your new office to promote? Often times it can be most useful to decide if you want to carry the theme of your present office forward, and just give your existing work space a face lift.

Often times, the style of your office strikes the right balance between what you want your office to represent and how you want your office to look. There is no rule what so ever that you must change the basic style of your work space when embarking upon an office redecorating project. Just remember that. If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.

Finally, scour the internet for office decor ideas that you think fit the goal of your project while fitting into your budget. You might be surprised at what you find. Office decor ideas aren’t as hard to come by as you might have thought.

Home office decorating can be both enjoyable and cost effective. It really comes down to your expectations and attitude. The secret to decorating or redecorating your home office is to manage both, your expectations and your attitude.

Mangaging your expectations requires a little bit of forethought. Consider what you want the end result of any home office decorating to be. Do you want to spruce up and existing home office (a redecorate) or are you emarking on a new decorating project?

Let’s assume that you already have a home office that you work from and are looking to redecorate to achieve your goals. In order to manage expectations properly you first must consider the end result. There are really two schools of thought regarding a decorating project. The first school of thought suggests that you focus on the aesthetics (or form) of the office. The other way to look at it is to concentrate on the usability (or function) of the room.

It is the goal of all decorating projects, whether conceived and carried out by a hobbyist or a professional interior designer, to achieve a blend of both form and function. However, at some point in the home office decorating project you will be forced to choose between the two. Therefore it is imperative to decide what you want your first priority in the design will be.

I always place the form slightly ahead of the function. I want a home office that imparts the look (when it’s clean) that I want it to impart. If I had to choose between a leather chair that fit the look to a T or one that sat extremely well, I always go for the chair that looks right in the room. However, this is a personal choice.

But, as I said, if you want your home office decorating project to go smoothly, then you need to come to a place whereby you know what you want and what you might have to sacrifice to get there.

I always recommend that the two elements, form and function, work in tandem. One is always first and foremost however the other element must still play a part in your design thesis. You don’t want to get so carried away thinking about the asthetics of the room that you design an office that is totally impractical.

How does this relate to expectations? It governs them really. You see, if you expect an office that looks like a chief executive’s office then you might only be satisfied with the redecorate if you achieve a stately, professional, and executive look. The same is true about an office that wish to achieve maximum functionality. If you are a writer and want a peaceful work environment and comfortable surroundings, you may be disappointed if you create a sharp, modern office environment.

The other element that you need to keep in mind when embarking on a home office decorating project, is your attitude about the whole thing. You need to ask yourself several pertinent questions. The first things that you may consider are as follows.

Do you have a proper eye for design?

Do you enjoy brainstorming possible looks and possible design elements?

Do you have the necessary budget to make your dream office a reality?

This just a starting point and you may wish to jot down several more questions. Do you enjoy shopping for home accent pieces and furniture? If you do not you may want to hire an interior decorator to make the process flow more smoothly. If you do outsource the design work you essentially eleiminate a entire schedule of looking for, buying, and transporting the office pieces that will make up your home office decoration.

Therefore, you may not even want to embark on a home office decorating project if you are not sure you will have the attitude that will allow you to enjoy yourself while creating a more palatable work space. If, on the other hand, you view home office decorating as a chore, why not farm out the work to someone who enjoys the redecorating process so much that they have decided to do it for a living?

Hopefully, you have both the right attitude and have properly calibrated your expectations. In this case you need to begin to focus on your office decorating ideas. You need to get down to the nitty gritty (and in my opinion super fun) process of making design decisions. This part of the process, for me, is really the icing on the cake where I can take a home office decorating project and make it my own.

If you think like I do then you are no doubt aware of the journey that lies in front of you. Here’s to wishing you the best in your home office decorating!
